About Me
I’ve always been interested in working with people to understand their suffering and find ways to help. This led to me training in medicine and working as a doctor within the NHS. However, I was always frustrated by the time and pressure constraints which seemed to get in the way of deeply connecting with the people I was caring for, which I felt was important and therapeutic. Having worked in psychiatry I’ve noticed the tendency of mental health services to pathologize mental distress and I became interested in non-medical approaches to working with challenging mental experiences.
After struggling with my own chronic mental health difficulties and burnout, I sought out personal psychotherapy. The experience of this has had a profound impact on me and has led me to train in psychotherapy to work with others in a more holistic, connected and empathic manner and help them learn to understand and navigate their own difficulties.

I've worked as a staff grade psychiatrist in the NHS and private sector for the past 4 years and so have experience working with people from diverse backgrounds with a range of mental health challenges. I’m also currently a senior trainee therapist at the Karuna Institute and I offer these sessions whilst working towards completion of my studies.

In my free time I like walking barefoot in the woods, climbing trees and wild swimming.
